Grammy’s 2016

 

1. The Thumbs up

Taylor Swift in Atelier Versace.  The crop top and high waist high slit skirt were not so much a show stopper, but the color combo is what brought the outfit to life. Orange and Fuchsia, I will definitely be trying that combo out.

Kaley Cuoco in Naeem Khan jumpsuit. There is just something about white outfits. The more you look into Kaley’s outfit the more you fall in love with it. I like the detail in the outfit and the fact that it is revealing without revealing much.

 Florence Welch. I love the outfit just because Florence is wearing it. This is so her. Twu’d have been a total drab if it was someone else.

Keltie Knight in Calvin Klein. This is both appropriate and elegant. Well sewed, she toned down on the accessories and make up. Love it.

2. The Disappointments

Ciara in Alexandre Vauthier. We did not for a second doubt that Ciara had a great bod. The outfit looks like a wrap around with knots, not flattering at all. looks like a dress I would make without a hustle and I do not know the first thing about making dresses. I am more than disappointed because she was in my 2015 fave list.

Andra Day in Michael Costello. How could a designer put his name on this. I know she designed it herself, but Costello seriously you let this be associated with you!!!

Liz Hernandez in (I didn’t even care enough to get the designer’s name) . The height is unflattering for this particular dress. The us of satin does not do it justice either and the pleats look like they were not well thought of and make the dress look ill fitting.

Carrie Underwood in Nicolas Jebran.  The sad part about this dress is that a lot of detail was put on the bust area and that made the dress fail. I do not mind the bottom part at all. Won’t blame her though for trying to remind us that she has boobs.

MET Gala 2015: Best Dressed

Now I didn’t have many great picks from the Gala….but i appreciate the few who did the theme justice

Miley Cyrus in Alexander Wang

1. I thought that this was the most creative piece. Miley did do the theme justice. The fitted black gown with large cutouts revealed her hips and stomach and a little bit of pelvic bone. The dress, which was studded all over, also featured a high collar and long sleeves. She kept her makeup to a minimum and maintained a slicked down icy blue-grey hair ‘do. It was simple, creative and sexy too.

2.  A work of art, this dress is.  It is like a flower that just bloomed for the world to see or a freshly opened creature from the sea peeping through, however you choose to look at it that is what MET Gala is all about. The dress is straight from the runway, featured in the Giles Autumn/Winter 2015 collection although Solange did make some slight changes to the dress.

3….and the award for the most daring and the best costume goes to badgirlRiRi. Now this is her kind of event. The use of a chinese couture designer definitely paid off. !!!Costume party!!!

MET Gala 2015: Obvious looks

MET Gala, huh! Is there an occasion that would speak more to a fashion lover….I don’t think so. MET Gala is the place for expressing one self through one’s outfit.

So the 2015 theme was “China: Through the Looking Glass” and so I expected the less creative individuals to actually take the literal meaning & that sheer would grace the red carpet and boy was I right. The pieces were okay but creativity was not a factor considered… sheer was too obvious.

Grammy’s 2015 – You’d have been better off naked

You go to a red carpet event and you pose for a photo…it means you want to be noticed and would like to confirm that you did put some effort into your look and want to leave us talking for days… That is why I appreciate even the worst dressed because they end up being noticed…I mean any publicity is good publicity, right? But there are those who I believe would have been better off naked.

Since they clearly did not put any effort into their looks, I will not waste my comments on them!. See below those who did nothing to my poor soul!

1.Yeah say all you want but I have never been so disappointed in my life. The fact that I have seen her in this in some best dressed lists makes me want to punch someone. Rihanna’s style is one I have drooled over and but this….this…this is a faux pas, like I can’t even deal………….. Her face and hair look cute though.
